You’d do well to answer the Great Unknown Question: who clubbed Mr. White over the head, and why?  Was it someone who also recognized who he was?  Was it some kind of message to you?  If so, the person who did it may know who you are.  Among other evidence, your diary is pretty incriminating.

You have a couple of options.  One is to surrender to the Inspector on the premise that he will understand why you had to kill Mr. White.  Don’t bet on it.  Scotland Yard does not approve of British subjects taking the law into their own hands.

Another possibility, should you find the person who did the clubbing, is to turn him or her in.  If a thorough autopsy was not performed, the Inspector may never know that there was another killer.

Remember, too, that if you’re going to get through this you’ll need to rely on your friends.  Countess Emerald has always been there for you and is likely to be supportive if you need her help.
