You have really got to keep a cool head here.  Your first problem is that you do not have an alibi.  Before the murder, you were pacing furiously around the attic; afterward, you were locked in your room hiding the candlestick under the floorboards.  It might be a good idea to ask Miss Peacock to cover for you.  She is your oldest and dearest friend, and she never seemed to like Mr. White anyway.

Aside from the alibi, the most important thing is to pretend your relationship with Prince Maroon is normal.  The Inspector will not focus on you because you have no motive to have killed Mr. White.  However, if you start to avoid the love of your life, you’ll look very suspicious.  Stick to him like glue.
